Diese Sammlung ist mehr eine autobiographische Erinnerung des Künstlers an die 80ger Jahre im Saarland, wo er u.a. studierte und verschiedenen Berufen nachging, aber immer – sein Leben lang nebenher – intensiv die Kunst betrieb und viele Ausstellungen im Saarland und in Frankreich durchführte. Ein Verkaufsangebote ist mit dieser Darstellung nicht verbunden, weil die meisten Bilder schon vor Jahrzehnten ihren Weg unter die Sammler gefunden haben. Aber bis heute ist Ihle aktiv künstlerisch tätig – und immer noch nebenher. Jede Pause gebiert einen neuen Schwerpunkt und eine Änderung im Stil. Zuletzt in Berlin waren es große historisierende Objekte in der Art von Hieronymus Bosch, die in eigener Manier zeitaktuell weiter entwickelt wurden und ganze Räume füllten. Auch in den nächsten England-Jahren entstanden ein paar interessante Zeichnungen. Die hier dargestellten Originale entstanden auf 60-100 cm großen Pappeunterlagen und nie im Atelier sondern vor Ort im Freien, in der Kneipe und vor dem Objekt – meist in wenigen Minuten bis zu höchstens 2 Stunden inclusive Farben. Sie waren schnelle unkontrolliert in Gouache-Manier bis zum Lippenstift colorierte Darstellungen aus einem Guß. Was nicht sofort gelang, wurde zerrissen.

This collection is more of an autobiographical memory of the artist in the 80s in the German Saarland County, a peaceful area in the far west of the country along the French and Luxembourg borders, where he studied and pursued various jobs and professions, but for all his life – alongside to his main occupations – ran intense operational art exhibitions in Germany and in France – never in a galery but frequently sponsered by local art commitees of town councils. Objects of this collection are not for sale, because most images have found their ways to the collectors decades ago. But until now Wolfgang is still an active artist – still doing the artistic work on the side of his main professions. Each pause gives birth to a new focus and a change in style. During the former years in Berlin there were large objects in the historicist style of Hieronymus Bosch, developed in a humorous way and filled entire rooms. During the former years in England he has also created some interesting drawings. The originals of the here presented objects were made in the size up to 60 x 100 cm or larger on cardboard materials and never created in the studio but outdoors, in the pub and before the object – usually produced within a few minutes up to a maximum of two hours inclusive colours. They were quickly scribbled drawings coloured in an uncontrolled fashion of gouache going as far as using lipsticks or fast nail polish. What was not immediately successful, was torn apart.
